Imagine touring Maui's scenic Haleakala Ranch on your own All Terrain Vehicle. You'll be exploring beautiful rolling hills and high mountain forest that can only be reached on an ATV. This custom tour will take you where no other tour can! Our modern 350cc four-wheel drive quads are very easy to operate and assure your comfort as you navigate our trails. Private exclusive accesses to our 30,000-acre working cattle ranch (look out for the Hawaiian paniolo cowboys at work). For those who prefer to be driven we offer our Hummer and Jeep Wrangler.

This tour includes 10 to 14 miles of ATV riding, comes with a picnic style lunch, and guests are taken to Maui's last native Hawaiian rainforest, the Waikamoi Reserve. While there, guests have lunch, and the guides do an informative hike and tour into the denser part of the rainforest and are educated about area and the fragile ecosystem.

All tours include a safety and ATV briefing.

Terrain

Our terrain is considered to be more on the "challenging" side. It's very off-road and bumpy. Trails we use are old cattle ranch roads built in the 1920's. We go up and down through a lot of gulches, dried river beds, rocky sections, and above-ground root systems. Depending on recent weather, trails can be extremely dry and dusty to wet and muddy. We are located on Haleakala Ranch, which is a working cattle ranch on 30,000 acres of land.

Equipment

We use Honda Rancher ES 350 4-wheeled drive ATV's. All ATV's are single passenger and have zippered canvas packs. These ATV's have electronic shifting controlled with left thumb. Support vehicles include a Military style Hum-V and off-road Jeep Wrangler. The Hum-V can accommodate 9 passengers and Jeep can accommodate 3.

Each ATV is equipped with its own zippered pack, so you can bring whatever you'd like along. Bottle of water, binoculars, sunscreen, and most importantly, camera.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does it work exactly?
All of our tours are guided, single file rides. The terrain we're on is not speed friendly, thus we keep the speed from 5-12 mph.

So can we go off on our own?
No, all tours including private tours are guided.

I have kids younger than 16, what do they do?
Since ATV riders MUST be at least 16 years of age, ages 5 through 15 ride with our guides in one of our support vehicles, the Jeep Wrangler or Military Hum-V.

My son/daughter has tons of ATV experience but is only 15, can he ride since he knows how?
Absolutely not! All ATV riders MUST be at least 16 years of age. There is no exception to this rule!

Can my son/daughter/wife ride on the back of my ATV with me?
No, it's strictly ONE PERSON PER ATV.

Can Dad drive the support vehicle?
No, These vehicles are driven by one of our guides.

Can an adult ride in one of the support vehicles?
Yes. Adults who want to do our tour but not drive their own ATV can do the tour in the support vehicle. Price is the same as ages 5 to -15.

I've never driven one of these, is it easy?
Yes, majority of the people who do our tour have never driven an ATV before. Before the start of the tour our guides show guests how to operate the ATV?s and then everyone is put through a practice course to see if they're comfortable on an ATV and capable of operating the machine.

How bumpy is it?
Very. Our terrain is VERY off-road. We use old cattle ranch roads built in the 1920's as our trails. We're on a working cattle ranch and our tour goes through a lot of dried riverbeds, gulches, rocks, and above ground roots.

Is it dirty?
Yes. We have the famous "Red dirt" in our area. It's mostly dusty. Unless we've had a lot of rain, there isn't any mud. We do have coveralls available to rent for $5.00.

Are there any steep hills?
Yes, there are a few. Areas that may be a concern are fenced off.

The 3 1/2 hour tour includes a short 10 to 20 minute hike / walk. Is this mandatory?
No. Guests are more than welcome to stay back.

Do we have to wear a helmet?
Yes. All guests are required to use a helmet and have some sort of eye protection. We provide helmets, goggles and gloves.

Does the 2 hour tour go to the rainforest?
No. Only the 3 1/2 hour tour does.

Are there waterfalls?
No, not unless we've had a lot of rain. We do however go through a couple of water ponds on the 3 1/2 hour tour.

How long will it take to get to you from Wailea?
1 hour. Lahaina? 1.5 hours.

Do you offer advanced tours?
We offer private tours, which allow the guests a custom tour at their ability. Guides take guests in areas where normal tours don't go and can be anywhere from 2 ro 4 hours long.

Is there a weight limit?
Our ATV's have a maximum capacity of 485 pounds.
